Day six of the holiday was spent at one of my favourite locations in the UK as a whole - Brownsea Island. It is a tiny little island opposite Poole and is reachable by a small boat that goes to and from Sandbanks on the edge of Bournemouth. What it's really famous for is it's habitation of red squirrels - a rare phenomenon in most places through Britain. Last time we visited we didn't manage to see any at all, but this trip we saw two. The pictures I got of them are a little blurry but I'm quite proud of myself for managing to get a couple, as they move so fast! We had a long walk around the island during the day, stopping at the beach on the South Shore and also at the little Lily Pond that is a pretty sight in the middle of the woodland.
On day seven, and our last day, we spent the morning on the beach before taking the short walk up to Durlston in the afternoon. We stopped to see the Great Globe - a huge stone globe featuring a complete map of the world, which Cameron and Ruby had never seen before and found amazing. The views from the cliff tops are gorgeous on a summer day, but it's quite daunting being so close to the edge!
It was a really great week in total and if you ever get the chance to visit Dorset you should!
